About
Built by someone who runs stand-downs
Every spring, safety managers and superintendents go looking for stand-down material, and what they find is a poster and a fact sheet. Nobody hands them a script, an activity, a sign-in sheet, and a plan, in English and Spanish, ready to run in fifteen minutes.
So I built it.
I’m a construction safety professional in Colorado. I’ve spent my career on jobsites and with the people who run them: writing safety programs, training foremen, and standing in front of crews at 6 a.m. trying to say something that actually sticks. Stand Down for Safety is the toolkit I always wanted to have.
Everything a crew needs to run a stand-down is free here, and it stays free. Every Monday the newsletter brings a two-minute Safety Moment you can read at the huddle. If you want something built around your site, your trade, or something that just happened, that’s what the custom kits are for.
If something in a kit is wrong, unclear, or could be better, tell me. These get better because people in the field push back on them.

Stand Down for Safety is my own work. It isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by OSHA or any employer. Partners and sponsors are always labeled, and they never change the safety content.
